On the way to Istanbul for the AESOP – Association of European Schools of Planning Congress with Piotr Lorens! Together, we’ll be joining Nurgul Yardim Mericliler and Astrid Krisch for a round table discussion on the ENACT 15mC project—reflecting on what we’ve achieved over the past 18 months and where we’re headed next.
This congress is a fantastic opportunity to exchange experiences and deepen our understanding of the global challenges we all face. Climate change is no longer an abstract concept; it’s a reality we see daily. For example, in Poland, the forecast for the coming week predicts heavy rainfall—up to 200 mm in some southern regions, with the possibility of even 300 mm in the most extreme scenarios. These intense downpours, alternating with periods of severe drought, are not just statistics—they are signs of the massive destabilization climate change brings. We see its effects with our own eyes: in our rivers, in rising food prices, and in the everyday lives of our communities.
Now, more than ever, we need to focus not only on protecting the environment but also on maintaining high living standards and accessibility in our cities.
If you’re in Istanbul from July 7-11, let’s connect and talk about technology, innovation, and the future of architecture and urban planning. Looking forward to inspiring conversations and new collaborations!
